In Bruges Indeed (2008-09-01)

Now this is how film making and story telling should be done. With an unpredictable plot, with witty and engaging dialogue, with performances that are spot on. We saw this in an empty theatre which is a tragedy. Hopefully it will find an audiece on DVD because it is a film that deserves to be seen. We snapped up the DVD soon after its release. Watching Farrell in the best role of his life ... this guy is funny ... was a sheer joy. Great film to see over and over again.

Nice Surprise (2008-08-19)

This is a well written story as it is continually unpredictable (in other words not made by Hollywood). Ferrell is great as a hitman who is out of his depth to the point be being downright immature. Gleeson's character is also great as he is a hitman who you actually care about (not an easy thing for a writer to do). Anyway this is kind of a buddy picture but instead of being cops the buddies are hitmen who are run by a gang boss (Fiennes) who has his own twisted set of morals that you just don't cross. I would definitely recommend this one, flew under the radar but well worth a look.

Thrilling, yet funny surprise. (2008-08-09)

This is another great Irish film. Colin Farrell delivers the performance of his life in this film. He just shines alongside Brendan Gleeson because they have such great chemistry together on screen. This movie along with being smart thriller, is darkly funny and there is a good mix of the two in this film. I was very satisfied with the ending, because there were many possibilities and none were certain so it kept me engaged.

A Colin Farrell redemption (2008-07-02)

I had serious doubts about Farrell's acting talent (and choice of work I suppose) before I saw this movie. Alexander was less than impressive, some liked it, personally I did not. However, I thought he was a great choice for this role and he played it very well.The movie was funny (some parts hilarious) and also conveyed strong emotion throughout. I genuinely enjoyed it and thought it was one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a while.I would suggest that the people most likely to enjoy this movie would be from ages 18 - 30.
