Impressive (2007-10-15)

If my previous reviews are read, I have a love/hate relationship with shooters. Halo 3 is one of the best shooters that I've ever seen or played, asides Bioshock, I love the character development and upgrading involved with Bioshock. Halo 3, the final installment to the series involving Master Chief, with war being waged on Earth, the Prophets are searching for an ancient relic and are willing to destroy everything to get it. So you, the Master Chief, with help from the Arbitor, and some brainless human soldiers, serious the ally AI is sometimes a little dumb, I've must have been run-over about ten times by my own side, which does get annoying, then there's the driving around into rocks and walls, or just driving in circles over and over again, this is a drawback to the game, but essentially, the other soldiers only become a real threat when they are infected by the Flood. Asides that, game is beautiful and visually stimulating with lush graphics and full and beautiful characters, also I've heard great things with the level designer and multiplayer. The story might be just a re-hashing, however what can be expected with a game that is part of this trilogy? Master Chief begins the story by falling back to earth in flames only to find out that the Arbiter is disgraced and helping humans. The Arbiter is not a playable character within the story mode he's an ally, which is kinda cool. With some new and cool weapons and vehicles like the gravity hammer, and the brute cycle only add to the vastness of this game and production value to this game. Now I won't tell you this game is very, very overhyped, but it's still a great game, with Microsoft and Bungie raising the bar in the battle of the Next Gen. Now for the reason I reviewed the Collectors edition, that is the one that I ordered, it comes in a very nice black tin with an additional production disc added to the package, also there is an alien race biography and stats which is a nice addition. I can't really recommend the Collectors edition, the game is great, and I do recommend people getting the game, but the Collectors edition is more geared to devotees who aren't as hardcore as the people who got the Legendary version.Halo 3 is a visually capitvating game, which may or may not be worthy of the massive amount of hype. But it's still a great game, the production values, story, and graphics make this game worth the purchase.

Disappointment (2007-09-27)

Its been 7 years in the making and I personally find that Bungie really craped up the game on this one. The storyline is still garbage and things occur without any explanation and I am still left wondering about things after completing the third and final game. I waited 3 years for this game and was hugely disappointed by the fact that there about 8 hours of gameplay to the game's entirety (and I played it on heroic). Bungie most likely focused heavily on multiplayer rather than completing the story and single player play. Now I have to dish out more money just to enjoy the game online. I mean, Halo enthusiasts have played the first 2 games, so we all know how the game, guns, and such functions. This means that we are likely to have less troubles completing the game, so that should have been considered in the making of the game.The end of the game is garbage/crap. The manner in which you are to finish the game was pathetic and lame....Lets just say there is no huge Boss or gunplay for that matter to give you a sense of completion/closure. I exchanged better games to get Halo 3 and I find that without multiplayer, this games is poor simply for the game's length and storyline.

Language selection (2007-09-25)

I live in Quebec and here the shops sell the french version only. All the menu are in english but the voice over are in french. That is why i'm ordering this one from the WEB and i hope that it will be in english.Let me tell you one thing. Never am i gonna buy another game in my local shop if they can't sell me the game in the language of my choice!
