First United Hillsong Studio Album! (2008-08-21)

All of the Above is Hillsong United's first ever studio album. In all of their previous album, they have recorded the music live, however for this album they decided to head into the studio. Interestingly however, the music feels almost the same as with their usual live releases. They don't lose any energy from the studio performances, likely due to the fact that they recorded most of the songs in one take all at once. The main difference is that you can no longer hear hundreds of choir members or the audience singing in the background. Also, this album features two songs by Brooke Fraser, double the amount as on the last album.The highlights in terms of fast songs are definitely Point of Difference, Break Free, and Solution. The best of the more reflective slow songs are Desperate People, Devotion and Saviour King. As per usual Hillsong songwriting these songs are all great to just listen to, or even to sing in church. Perhaps the best song on the album is Hosanna by Brooke Fraser. This is one that is being sung in churches around the world. The song itself is somewhat anthemic, and very moving.All in all, this is another great Hillsong United album, worth buying. And it comes with the usual DVD which features live performances of several of the songs.
