Now that the beta is over... (2007-06-17)

Crackdown now has to stand on its own as a sale. I was doubtful of how much fun I would have from trying the demo, but after renting it and giving it a serious play (besides participating in the Halo 3 beta) I certainly plan to own Crackdown, most likely from a Marketplace seller at an appealing price. Like the GTA series, the game is an open sandbox, and there are enough interesting physics and unique aspects of the gameplay to enjoy over the span of several months. Really you can complete the game story in a few days of play, so if you can enjoy the world and the frenetic gameplay as mindless fun there's really no more to be justified. The co-op online story play is interesting if you like that kind of thing with friends or strangers. And they have added ample amounts of free and priced DLC to add missions and new gametypes. Hopefully more will come.In summary, Crackdown is like candy, with little nutrition, and a creamy nougat centre of Beta, but still enjoyable again and again... in moderation of course.
Not what you would think... (2007-03-11)

INTRO:Crackdown has been very popular since it has been released getting publicity in magazines and on T.V.but tha doesn`t make a game so i tought i would try it.Crackdown takes much of the GTA style of play were you do what you want whenever you want to,its not a bad thing but its certainly not creative. The game offers lots of destruction and explosions as promised but is it really a great game?REVIEW:Crackdown offers lots of action but in a way that it seems really empty. When i play a game i don`t just play it,i live trought it and this game did not gave me that sensation it felt like it was fueled with a whole bunch of nothing. It is fun to get to jump real high, drive cars and make stunts but it ain`t as much fun as one would think. Its not a game i loved but its not a game i hated. The gun aiming ain`t good in a way that it feels old and trashy. On the positive side the graphics are good but ive seen better they are really original and that comic book-comes-alive! kinda think is really cool.It comes with the much anticipated Halo 3 beta wich is why most people purchased the game in the first place. The game is worth a rental but the Halo 3 betta makes up for it i beleve.I won`t buy the game after having the opportunity of playing it but the game is selling well and will continue because of the publicity it is receving(those Microsoft folks really boost their games by doing all that publicity!)and also because it has Halo 3 betta. Not bad but not great,a rental in my book but go for the Halo 3 betta if you really want it.A 6/10
