Educative but not spell-binding. (2008-01-22)

Nancy Drew, the young girl private detective, features nowadays in books, films, and games. The games, some of the best of their type, have been played recently by three generations of my family. They provide elements of adventure, detection, co-ordination skills, and problem solving. Individual choices and interests probably govern which games a user will prefer. One that has been played by various family members this year is No 15: "The Creature of Kapu Cave". The setting is Hawaii. Go for it, if you wish to spend an imaginative escape amongst lush vegetation. Anyone with an interest in botany will enjoy this one, but those who respond to the magic of story-telling and the lure of mystery will be disappointed.

A surprising disappointment (2007-10-14)

The graphics were great but couldn't make up for the poor story and plot. The game ends before you warm up to the story and it leaves you with the feeling that you have missed more than half of it. The puzzles are not as challenging as the other Nancy Drew games. I think the overall quality of the game was sacrificed to introduce the new concept of running two stories / characters in parallel.I gave it 2 stars for its graphics.

A 14 year old girl's review (2007-10-11)

This game was ok. The graphics were amazing, I'll give it that, but that doesn't mean the story's any good. I've played this game 3 times, and I'm still not exactly sure what the mystery is, though i do have an idea. the ending has nothing to do with the rest of the game. I thought i was about half-way through the game, but then it ended, it was way too short!! usually Nancy drew games take me 7-10 hours (with the exception of blackmoor which took me months,and secrets can kill which took me an hour), but this one took me only 3or 4 hours to finish, and i never even had to use a walkthrough! the only thing i liked was some of the puzzles (i found fishing and making shell necklaces extremely annoying)and the fact that you could switch to the hardy boys (which were very ugly). I am very disappointed and hope for better games in the future. i would only recommend this game if you want to complete your Nancy drew collection.

I like it very much (2006-11-18)

I enjoyed this PC game so much that I recommended it to my best friends. It is very exciting, the program runns smoothly on an average computer and the graphics are fabulous. Overall, I think that you will have a great time playing it. Highly recommended.
