One spin of FutureSex/LoveSounds and it's hard to believe that Justin Timberlake was ever a boy-band barnstormer--no modern-day male artist beats him when it comes to single-minded self assurance or suavity. "SexyBack," the inescapable summer sizzler of a first single off this short and thrillingly unwholesome disc, makes that clear on its own: If there was ever any question about whether sexy was in need of reviving--a doubtful proposition at best, given the sheer volume of JT's gyrating counterparts--he lays it to rest instantly over a small but insistent Timbaland-concocted beat. On that track, Timberlake's appeal is his sweet but newly thuggish-sounding voice--here's a good kid gone bad, and he's determined to convince us of it not only by tossing a few well-timed mother****ers our way but also with such lyrics as "I'll let you whip me if I misbehave." The rest of FutureSex will feel familiar to anyone who picked up 2002's brilliantly funk-flecked Justified: "Love Stoned/I Think She Knows Me," shifts from Michael Jackson-esque paranoid trilling to pulsating guitar rock; "Chop Me Up," a collaboration with Three 6 Mafia and Timbaland, gives up the grit rap-style but still manages to recall both Prince and Stevie Wonder; "My Love," with T.I., mines classic Timberlake territory with meltaway lyrics like "I can see us holding hands walking on the beach/Our clothes in the sand"; and the straight-up but groovy lament "Losing My Way" asks, searchingly, what may be the silliest question a squeal-inducing pop star has ever posed: "Can anybody out there feel me?" Rest assured, JT: we feel every past-, present-, and future-sexy verse. --Tammy La Gorce

Amazing album!! One of the best of the year (2007-09-29)

Justin Timberlake has released an amazing new album. Summer Love, Lovestoned and What Comes Around are three of the best songs on the album. Until the end of the time is amazing. SexyBack and My Love are two more masterpieces. Justin Timberlake has released a masterpiece and one of the best albums from 2006.
Ooh-wee!! Justin has really thrown down into this sophomore piece (2007-06-23)

This album has some very sexual, danceable tracks. I, for one, love the single SexyBack and couldn't wait to get my hands on this album. I was also curious to see if he had evolved from his last album and after hearing Future Sex/Love Sounds, Justin has finally live up to his potential. Although he still allows other artists to influence his music (more Prince than Michael), Justin really has created a niche for himself and adds some nice transition throughout his entire album. The Prince vibe from the title track is one my favorite songs in this album. The song is really sexy and fun as well as "Sexyback." The next 3 tracks on the CD are some of the stronger numbers. "Sexy Ladies...."(70's funk vibe), "My Love"(techno vibe), and "Love Stoned," (lots of beat and harmonies) are completely different from each other with different sounds that works out real well. Justin really shows his maturity with 3 solid slow jams. Out of the three, my favorite is "Until the End of Time,"(prince vibe) because he really throws down an R &B vibe in this one. "Summer Love..." is also great because it has a fun vibe with the attached song "Set the Mood" which is really short but sweet at the same time. "What Goes Around..." is a great track it sounds as though it came from one of the ballads on Justified as well as "My Love." He gets down with 3-6 Mafia in "Chop Me Up" which isn't bad it has great thumping beats and lyrics. "Damn Girl" with Will.I.Am (funk Prince Vibe) is another favorite due to the live band sound. Some of the tracks either end with a prelude or interlude which blend and lead into the following song very nicely. Timbaland and Justin clearly work's well with each other. His songs will clearly be a standout on radio while others might blend in. There's no need to write this guy off whether you buy this album or not because he managed to create another good solo album.
How did he do it? (2007-03-08)

Yes, this IS the same Justin that once bounced around happy-faced, curly-haired, and about 16 against a green screen singing "merry Christmas, happy holidays" with his four merry men. Who'd have thought someone with that little artistic integrity could bloom into one of the hottest talents in pop music that every producer, MC and big-name actress wants a piece of?Justin has truly made a name for himself, somehow waving his magic wand and making N*Sync dissapear into thin air. When watching the steamy mini-movie for the hot, sultry single "What Goes Around (Comes Around)", it's clear; Justin is TALENTED. The songs on 'Futuresex/Lovesounds' are hot, intelligent, perfectly arranged, and all of them have soul, something that JC Chazez certainly couldn't pull off on his solo offering, "Schizophrenic". No, you certainly can't touch Justin. Your hand might just burn off.Despite having the best-selling single EVER, even Michael Jackson has to take off his crown and hail the new King of Pop: Justin Timberlake showed us all that sometimes, the part is greater than the sum of the whole. Was he more talented than Joey, Lance, Chris and JC? Listen to this stellar album and be the judge.
Great CD... Truly showcases Justin's talent (2007-03-07)

This CD is so amazing. It is full of so many different songs, something for everything. You have you classic Justin songs, and then your ballads, and theres even some rap on it. This album is truly genius, and you will grow to appreciate it even more once you see him perform all of it live! You won't regret your purchase of this album!
Amazing album... one of the best I've heard this year (2006-09-27)

I was really curious to see how this album was going to turn out. I got it a couple of days after it came out. I was very impressed. It is sooooooo different from anything that is out there right now, but that is what makes it so good. It has amazing beats, good lyrics, good melodies... and EVERY song on this album could be a single. There are some great club tracks too. I think that working with Timbaland was the golden ticket for this album. It deserves all the praise that it gets. If you like Justin and you appreciate good beats and good lyrics, go out and get the album... I promis you won't be disappointed.Best songs on the album:Sexy LadiesSummer LoveLosing My WayWhat Goes Around
