"...not too often, but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves" (2007-01-15)

The second season of "Greys anatomy" is just as good as the first, and that is a lot to say. I am pretty sure you have already watched at least some episodes of the series, but missed others and want to make up for it with this dvd. If so, this is your chance, grab it! On the other case, if that is not the case and you are new to "Greys anatomy", do yourself a favour and purchase first "Grey's Anatomy - Season one", in order to start watching this series by the beginning. Why should someone be interested in this series? Well, because it is engaging, can boast a great cast and an excellent script. What is more, it is about medical operations in a hospital, but also about the personal lives of the interns and attendings that work there. This series is about the main characters as doctors, but also as people with everyday problems, and their struggle to try to deal with them.In this second season every character has changed, and quite a few things are different. For example Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has to face the fact that the man she loves, attending physician Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), has a wife she didnt know about, Dr. Addison (Kate Walsh). That hits her hard, and among other things she does to cope with that fact, Meredith ends up buying a dog. According to her, "Four hundred years ago, another well-known English guy had an opinion about being alone. John Donne. He thought we were never alone. Of course, it was fancier when he said it. "No man is an island entire unto himself." Boil down that island talk, and he just meant that all anyone needs is someone to step in and let us know we're not alone. And who's to say that someone can't have four legs. Someone to play with or run around with, or just hang out".Regarding the other interns, Izzy Stevens (Katherine Heigl), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and George O'Malley (T.R McKnight) will have quite a few more problems in their personal lives in this second season, but they will continue to grow as professionals. Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) will have some trouble dealing with her growing feelings for her lover, attending surgeon Preston Burke (Isiah Washington), and with the adjustments both need to make so that their relationship can work."Greys anatomy" is the kind of show that is easy to recommend, as almost everybody will find something good in a show that entertains but also gives you some food for thought. I will finish this review quoting Meredith Grey, who says that "At the end of the day, there are some things you just can't help but talk about. Some things we just don't want to hear, and some things we say because we can't be silent any longer. Some things are more than what you say, they're what you do. Some things you say cause there's no other choice. Some things you keep to yourself. And not too often, but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves". Buy this dvd, it will speak for itself...Belen Alcat

This show made me believe in network tv again. It's beautifully written and the music is expertly chosen. THe second season broke my heart a million times and I can't wait to have it break all over again on DVD.
Get Together and Watch This Show! (2006-07-23)

I've been hooked on Grey's since the pilot episode, and as the show continued to grow on me throughout the first season it turned into an obsession by the second season. The writing is exceptional, because the people are real, they feel, they make mistakes, they get frustrated and angry but most important they get you the viewer to feel these things with them. I recommend watching Grey's with a group of friends, my girlfriends and I would watch together Sunday nights, (now airing on Thursday nights) and it was nice for us to get together and bond over our Grey's obsession. So, if you haven't heard about Grey's or if your not normally a type of person who watches hospital type shows like ER (a great show in it's own right) I urge you not to dismiss Grey's at first sight because I find it completely original. It's funny because no matter how much I might be screaming at my TV about something stupid one of the characters did I still couldn't help but root for them, even the grumpy Alex tug a cord in my heart. There are pieces in all these characters that I can relate to because at some time during the season all the main characters are placed in a completely vulnerable situation and there is something so intimate about watching that when it's done right. To top it off, not only are the major arc story lines addictive but also the episodic stories are so beautifully and seamlessly written and acted and this is just a real credit to some really great casting and acting by guest actors. I just want to end off with the spectacular season ending episodes where the character of Denny will melt any woman's heart and lead many men to re-examine theirs. It was jaw dropping, nail biting, pillow squeezing, tear jerking, and intensely written and acted season finally. This show proves that great scripted television still exist where somewhere within America's insane appetite for quick fame gimmicks a true diamond appeared, so sit down enjoy a real feast, but beware it may take you quite some time to digest!
Five Stars not enough for exceptional Show. A True Hit (2006-06-17)

In a year where sophmore shows like Desperate Housewives and Lost faltered, Grey's Anatomy shattered expectations. 27 episodes matched with a soundtrack that completely kicks butt, it makes you wish that September was tommorow because you could not only own this set and watch the dramatic season finale over and over again, but also that you can watch with baited breath for Season 3. It's more serious than Scrubs, funnier than ER and with a quote bank (with a delivery) that can rival Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy (known as GA) is something that belongs on your shelf. Key episodes were:Raindrops Keep Falling On My HeadIts the End of the World......As we Know it 17 SecondsDeterioration of the Fight or Flight Response Losing My ReligionFall in love with Meredith, Derek, Bailey and the Gang with this emotional, hysterical second season. My hopes: Fullscreen (ABC aired it full screen all season, so no reason why it shouldn't continue), a lot of Shonda, and some musical tidbits!Run, don't walk, to a store near you Sept 12. Better yet - pre-order it, and be secure you will have it in the morning's mail. - One complaint. With the short season, it would have been more benefical to combine season 1 with season 2 but hey. Can't complain. GA is here!
