This album should be rotated into your Player (2007-06-23)

You would imagine that she would be a one hit wonder. But actually, this CD has some pretty good material. Pon Da Reply was definitely a hit of that summer. It's not a Dancehall album so basically it does not fit into any one category. There are ballads, hip hop/R&B and of course dance hall. I think the fusion of these types is really good and this album is definitely one worth listening to. Again, Rihanna is no one hit wonder based on the quality of songs I have heard on the CD, people just need to listen for themselves and don't get caught up in all these reviews. My favorite tracks are "Pon Da Replay" (original and remix), "Here I Go Again," "If It's Lovin' that You Want," "You Don't Love Me (No! No! No!)," "Music of the Sun," "Rush," and "There's A Thug In My Life" (which does have a familiar beat). The only flaw I see with Rihanna is that she doesn't have a lot of passion in her voice or performances, but she works with what she's got and produces wonderful harmonizing. There is one or two filler tracks, yes, like "Willing To Wait", but this CD has a lot more good material than bad. This album is enjoyable to listen to and worth having into your collection.

I bought this cd a couple of days ago and I have already memorized every song on this cd! Numbers 11 (There's A Thug In My Life) and 12 (Now I Know) are my personal favorites! I absolutely love how Rihanna blends the sounds of R&B with the unique sounds of Reggae and Reggaton! Keep up the good work Rihanna I'm sure your next cd will be a hit like this one!

Amazing Album!!! (2005-09-03)

I can't put this album down!!! Rihanna has definitely put Reggae and Dancehall on the map with her soultry R&B fused Reggae sounds. Her unique sound will guarantee her stay. I applaud Def Jam for deciding to diversify their sound beyond the traditional R&B and Rap. I can guarantee this is one of the best new artists of the year. The album is amazing and all her songs touch you in a way most R&B songs haven't done lately. Whatever your music preferences, Rihanna will be the exception for you. Here's a Big up to Rihanna, our Caribbean soul sista!
