"Minor" flaw (2007-03-11)

I've had this game for just over a week, and have found it extremely fun to play. Unfortunately I haven't played any of the PC Age of Empire games (yet), so I can't make any first-person comparisons. Age of Empires for DS has one flaw that, if you are unaware of it beforehand, can be very annoying. For some reason, if your profile name is less than four characters (i.e. "Bob" or "San"), on starting up the game the next time you want to play, you get a blank screen. To avoid this, you can change your name in your DS profile, or else change it in the game.Other than that problem, which hasn't come up again for me (I exchanged the first copy), the game is great! It's an excellent choice for somebody looking for a Civ-style simulation game for the DS.

INTRODUCTION:Age of Empires is long time video game franchise on the computer, the game was fun and creative and has been copied many times but few strategy games are as good as Age of Empires. Now Nintendo adjust Age Of Empire to fit on their latest portable console the Nintendo DS.Is it good or bad?Read on to find out.REVIEW:This Age of Empire seemed promising since the DS has double screens, voice command and the touch screen wich would have made a stlish way of playing Age of Empire. The portage version of Age Of Kings is kinda deceving i have to admit, especially the poor graphics of the game and you can only pick from 5 civilizations.Sure enough the game wasn`t expected to be a computer copy but some points could have been adjusted i guess they still left the most important of Age of Empires but it just isn`t enough.Whats nice is that it fully uses the stylet pen, also you still have the 4 ages of your civilization like dark age, feudal ages ect,you can build most things that are in the computer game like Castles,Wonders, Towers and more.Another bad point is that you have to move you units one at the time.A good point for this game is that your civilazations have heroes like Richard the lion-hearted and they have special powers wich is nice enough.PROS:-Portable Age of Empire-You can unlock many things that helps you-Full use of the stylus pen-You can build nearly everithing that was on AOE for the computer-Addictive-You can play with up to 3 other friends-Each civilization has a specific heroCONS:-Poor Graphics-You have to move your units one at the time-You can only play as 5 civilizations(Saracens,Japanese,Britons,Franks and Mongols)-You cannot build your own maps-No cheats for this game unlike computer versionsRATINGS:GRAPHICS:3/10-And im generous it look like a SNES game exept for few thingsMODES:9/10-You have tutorials,Campaing mode and an Empire map plus multiplayer.SOUNDS/SOUNDTRACK:8/10-For this kind of game it fits well REPLAYABILITY:7.5/10-The Empire map mode and multiplayer are good enough.STORYLINE:8/10-Not anything new but true to Age of EmpiresOVERRAL:7.1/10 I give 3 and a half star for this game its portable version of Age Of Empire with a few goods and bads nothing much more or less.
