funky and pimpin slowjams (2005-09-14)

well, as far as i am concerned, jack johnson may as well quit his life as a musician right now, because i fail to see how he will top this new release. sweet mother of mercy, what a cd this is. i am truly stuck for superlatives here...the words, "good," "swell," and "hyper-funky" spring to mind immediately. and jackson's singing these days is beginning to remind me of the infamous toni liut from the toni liut funk foundation, whose seminal "niagara falls fire alarms" is one of the finest pieces of bluesage to ever grace my ears.

especially good is track #3, "give it to you," which jedson wrote as a loving ode to his hero, david hasselhoff.

all in all, a cd that is beyond compare and one which should be on the soundtrack to our final days on earth.
