Michael Bublé's assured debut and the tireless year of globe-trotting touring he spent promoting it elevated the 20-something Vancouver native into the first rank of pop crooner revivalists. His sophomore studio follow-up largely turns on the same formula that helped make his considerable vocal prowess so attractive to mainstream audiences, mixing the nigh flawless, if expected Sinatra-channeling ("I've Got You Under My Skin") with more playful and inviting renditions of pop standards like the Gershwin's "A Foggy Day in London Town," "Feeling Good," "Try A Little Tenderness" and Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." But it's the eclectic mix of more contemporary material the singer seasons them with -- apt tribute to Bublé hero Bobby Darin -- that keeps him walking the narrow tightrope between artistic intrigue (a blues-tinged vamp of Holland-Dozier-Holland's "How Sweet It Is," Leon Russell's lovely "Song For You," with a guest turn by Chris Botti) and the kitsch-laden abyss ("Quando, Quando, Quando"'s Euro-centric duet with Nelly Furtado, a ring-a-ding-fling with the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" that echoes fellow Canadian crooner/rival Matt Dusk's more successful flirtation with Lennon-McCartney). Arranger/producer Tommy LiPuma offers Bublé a welcome swinging jazz showcase on "The More I See of You," a bracing respite from the rest of producer David Foster's slick, if typically bloodless MOR production. -- Jerry McCulley [Note: A special edition including two bonus tracks--"Dream a Little Dream" and "Mack the Knife"--is also available.]

Canada's King of Kool (2007-02-21) Recognized as Canada's best artist with FOUR JUNO's this past year alone, Mr. Michael Bublé won't disappoint. It's Time is a wonderful collection of both revitalized old and brand new like the smash hit "Home" written by Bublé himself. No wonder after 2 years on the charts It's Time is still one of the best selling cds in Canada. With the new release "Call Me Irresponsible" out soon, the Bublé catalogue is certain to remain a mainstay in Canadian music.
well less than 1 really (2007-02-21) Come on folks. I am a Canadian too, but I am not proud of Michael Buble. The man is not Frank Sinatra. On his best days, he's comparable to Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer. Why do we fork over our dough to this guy? He's a hasbeen who never shoulda been. There's a song title for you Michael. Hope you make a million off it! Now please remember he is not, and cannot be compared to Frank Sinatra. Even to mention Buble in the same breath is sacrilege. So for all you swooning ladies out there, huffing with indignation....wanna buy my used copy of this album...cause Buble won't refund my money.
Middle of the Road - defined (2006-11-12) Safe, slick, and saccarine for the most part; while this CD does have its moments (e.g., "The More I See of You) and his singing is good, it ends up an unsatisfying musical diversion with little substance. I suggest that you stick with some more authentic modern and by-gone artists... Best,From South Detroit
Better than this...not possible (2006-06-26) This is the best c.d. that I have ever listened to and owned!! For the life of me I can't pick one favourite, they have all been done to perfection. I will be going to see him in the states in one week, and have heard that he is even better live.....how can you improve on perfection????? I now own all his wonderful c.d. and d.v.d's and will be the first in the stores to buy anything that this incredible, talented, wonderful singer puts out...he is surely the most gifted singer of our time....thank God for this amazing voice, I beg you to go out and purchase this c.d. if you have not got it already.....
Strangely enjoyable! (2006-06-04) I used to think I hated swing music. I used to think it was a contrived, dated, silly, over-the-top genre that had no place in the 21st century. But Buble proves me wrong. He hardly ever steps out of line, his interpretations of these classic songs are innovative, palliadable for today's listeners, and his vocals are enthusiastically fantastic. The album is full of silly, escapist songs that are fluffy and a little too sweet, yet Buble turns them into serious material. Great album from one of the best vocalists making music today!
