A year after his slickly produced recording debut launched him on a meteoric course to stardom, this combo CD/DVD set chronicles Michael Buble's crowd-pleasing live performances before amphitheater-sized crowds on a triumphant national tour. The audio portion kicks off with pair of new studio recordings again reinforce the 20-something Canadian heartthrob's 1950s-something artistic tack with mixed results: "Nice 'n' Easy" has a Sinatra-faithful jazzy swing; the overproduced, somnambulistic "Can't Help Falling in Love" evokes Perry Como more than Elvis. The remainder of the audio CD is comprised mostly of live versions of songs from Buble's debut, with his takes of "My Funny Valentine," "Fever," Van Morrison's "Moondance" and "Mack the Knife" again suggesting that Buble has an ear cocked wisely towards the Bobby Darin oeuvre. But with the notable exception of three elegant live-in-studio performances culled from Sessions@AOL, the live DVD does Buble's undeniably charming stage presence a great disservice. Intercut awkwardly with offstage comments by Buble and his band, the balance of that disc suffers from an MTV-inspired, cut/dissolve-every-three-seconds style that's intended to focus one's attention, but does exactly the opposite. If sudden stardom virtually guarantees that Buble's impossibly smooth, expressive voice seldom ventures very far outside the Sinatra/Darin mold here, hopefully he'll leverage that fame towards greater artistic challenges in the near future. --Jerry McCulley

Michael Bublé Shines Again! (2005-05-13)  Michael Bublé shines again with this wonderful CD/DVD treat! Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gatica and backed-up by a full big band orchestra, this is a follow-up to his successful and most raved-about CD "Michael Bublé." Listening to the CD is just terrific with eight fabulous tracks, but the DVD is a real delight watching him perform twelve timeless classics and not to mention the interview footages in between his outstanding and remarkable performances. One of the songs Mr. Bublé performed on the DVD is very memorable and brings back a lot of memories to me, "The Way You Look Tonight," which is my all-time favorite and so much a part of my life! And it is the very first non-classical piece that I learned to play on piano. I remember my sister Ruth arranged a medley of this lovely song with "Blue Moon" that we both loved to play together. "The Way You Look Tonight"~ Words and Music by Jerome Kern & Dorothy Fields ~ Someday, when I'm awfully lowWhen the world is coldI will feel a glow just thinking of youAnd the way you look tonight... You're lovely, with your smile so warmAnd your cheeks so softThere is nothing for me but to love youAnd the way you look tonight... Most of the songs performed have been initially recorded for the CD "Michael Bublé and re-recorded for this CD/DVD combo, with the exception of "Can't Help Falling In Love," "Mack The Knife," "You'll Never Know," "My Funny Valentine" and Sinatra's signature song and one of my all-time favorites, "Nice 'N' Easy," which he performed splendidly in every way. There's no doubt that Mr. Bublé is a total performer with his amazing stage presence and his marvelous voice, which is his greatest asset. He's gone a long way and as long as he keeps on recording beautiful music, he would be one of the best singers of our time! I've ordered this CD/DVD combo from Amazon.com over a year ago and that makes this review a "late-bloomer" but as the saying goes. . . "It's better late than never!" Strongly recommended!
2 1/2 stars for the dvd,3 1/2 stars for cd (2004-07-14)  I bought this album about 3 weeks ago,the first time i heard his "MICHAEL BUBLE"album,it was 1 year ago at hmv's store in singapore.....,and it was a terrific album. since then i was so anxious to watch his live in concert dvd and Finally, i found this cd dvd album.unfortunetly, the live concert on this dvd didn't really meet my expectation of what his concert supposed to be.too many interviews and it was like watching a video clip rather than a live concert but anyways u have to watch it for yourself, and u decide !! so 2 1/2 stars for the dvd and 3 1/2 stars for the cd
DON'T buy this CD package! (2004-07-08) Michael Buble has recorded the theme for the new Spider-Man 2 movie and his version plays over the end credits but is not on the album. However, Warner Music just issued the song as a single. But WAIT!... Plans are in play to re-issue 'Come Fly With Me' as the current CD/DVD package BUT will include "Can't Help Falling In Love," "My Funny Valentine," "Spiderman" and a new mix of "Sway". If you still want the CD single of 'Spider-Man', it features a Junkie XL remix. Junkie XL also did 5 remixes of the song 'Sway' on the same single.
A Must Buy For All Michael Buble Fans! (2004-07-07) I have had Michael Buble in my DVD player and on my big screen TV for almost three months now, and each and every time I listen to Michael sing or watch him perform I gain a better understanding of how wonderfully talented this young man truly is. Whether in my car, at work, or on my TV, I always get a feeling of satisfaction after enjoying his music. The DVD is very informative and the concert footage makes me feel like I am right in the middle of one of his concerts. With all the live performance and interview/backstage footage you really get to know what Michael Buble is all about. The CD includes some new material as well, and I especially like "Nice And Easy". With his gorgeous voice and unique style he will be a permanent fixture in the pop music scene for many years to come. This CD/DVD package is really marvelous and you can't go wrong buying it. If you enjoy listening to crooners and Big Band Swing, I would also suggest Monte Procopio "Swingin' With Style" CD. His 13-piece band really swings and deserves a listen.
Like being at the dentist. (2004-07-04)  Sure I will fly with Michael. But as soon as he starts singing, he will be the first out of the plane with no parachute. Awful to liten to. Trying to listen to this screeching idiot is like pulling teeth.
