Editorial Reviews
From Amazon.com

The fourth season of Sex and the City is just as smart and sexy as ever, mixing caustic adult wit and sharply observed situation comedy on the mean streets of Manhattan, though this time the quartet of singleton city girls must endure even tougher combat in the unending war of love, sex, and shopping. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) finally seems to have found her ideal life partner when she is reunited with handsome craftsman Aidan (John Corbett). But can their relationship survive trial by cohabitation? Meanwhile Charlotte (Kristin Davis) seems to have both her dream Park Avenue apartment and a solution to her marital problems with Trey (Kyle MacLachlan). But when the subject of babies comes up, everything starts to unravel for her, too. It's not just Charlotte who has baby issues either: after what seems like an eternity of enforced sexual abstinence Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is horrified to discover she's pregnant. And as for the sultry Samantha (Kim Cattrall), she's on a quest for monogamy, first with an exotic lesbian artist, then with a philandering businessman, with whom to her utter dismay she just might have fallen in love. --Mark Walker
Chronique Amazon.fr

one interesting tidbit from the writer's commentary (2004-06-22)

I did not really appreciate Sex and the City until watching every episode sequentially on DVD. HBO tends to air random episodes out of sequence after their first showing and the show never really grabbed me until I discovered that there is actually plot and character development over time and not just endless brunches and mindless sex talk. For example, I did not know that Big appeared in the series from the beginning, and I never knew that Aidan and Carrie had been engaged before I started watching the DVDs from the beginning.

Anyway, that being said, I love this series and I would encourage anyone who has seen a few episodes and wondered what the fuss is about to take the time to watch the show from the beginning.

The Writer's Commentary on a few episodes on this DVD is generally not worth the price of the DVDs, in my opinion. He rarely tells us anything we couldn't notice ourselves, however, I had always wondered about the incident where Trey gives Charlotte a cardboard baby, which I understood as a plot device but thought was too tasteless a gesture to be plausible. I should have guessed that the "Cardboard Baby" was based on an actual experience and an example of truth being stranger than fiction.

I love "Sex and the City". The funny thing is I really didn't watch it until after it got canceled. Anyways, here's what happened.

Carrie(Sarah Jessica Parker)joins a fashion show. Then she and Aidan get back together. They get engaged and she hurts him...again.

Samantha(Kim Cattrall)dates a woman named Maria. Then she falls for Richard, her boss.

Miranda(Cynthia Nixon)gets pregnant and almost has an abortion. In the end, she keeps the baby. She and Steve have a son named Brady Hobbs.

Charlotte(Kristin Davis)gets back together with Trey. They tried to have a baby, but fail. Trey decides not to have a baby. And they end up apart again.

This is the funniest season of "Sex and the City". I can't wait to see seasons 5&6. Enjoy!

This Man Like Sex and the City (2004-03-14)

Sex and the City rules from a male perspective. I started watching Sex and the City with my mother when it first aired and have not be disappointed by the show. This review is based on the whole six series of SATC. All the main characters are honest, funny, and shares a similar desire. Carrie's character is a sex columnist for a newspaper. Carrie uses her own personal experiences as well as her girlfriends experiences to compose a column about men, women, sex, and relationships. Samantha is extremely sexually active women who works in Public Relations. Miranda is smart, self assured lawyer who is cynical which leaving her to fake her emotions about relationships. Charlotte is prim and proper Park Avenue women who goals are to get married and have a family.

The reason why I like SATC is because it give a comedic version on sex and relationships. No matter what happens to your own social life, you can watch SATC and share the same humorous episode of what Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte did, and learn to laugh a upon at your own situations. These six series will be treasured and revisited by me.

This season features some of my favorite episodes of my all-time favorite show. Since I have found SATC and the "New Sex Now" dvd, my life has been transformed 1000% for the better.
You Go Girls!!! (2004-02-27)

First off, I love season four! These ladies never cease to amaze! (Wink, wink! Nudge, nudge! Knowwhatimean, Knowwhatimean!) Okay, enough sassy innuendo!. These are some independent gals! Season four finds them pushing the racy envelope, while also tackling more serious issues. Oh, what a lovely tapestry they weave, when first they practice to allev... iate -- all of us from tired old social conventions!! These four little ladies know how to have fun! (They don't cook, clean, and be quiet when a man is talking like women should do). So what happens? Well, Aidan's back with the 'lil pixie, and they're living in sin! And Miranda gets pregnant -- out of wedlock, like she never listened to Republican warnings!!! And Samantha... uh... plays for the other team, just like Newt's sister!!! (Can you believe it?) Enough said, see it for yourself!!! (Either buy it through Amazon.com or from someone who doesn't speak English -- the material is that racy!!!) If a show with similar writing was acted out by men, I'd give it 3 stars. Now, I don't believe in affirmative action... but these little ladies could use a boost -- 5 stars!!! I'm proud of you, girls!!! (And I'm smitten with the pixie!!!)
