Long but fun!!!!!!!!!!!! (2004-03-29) Madden NFL 2003 is one of the best sports games I've ever played. In this game, you can work through 30 years of career stats and player progress. you can even draft, contract, sighn free agents, creat your players, creat pay rolls and trade players with tips from your scouting staff. All this is great, but too play a good game of foot ball, you should have each period about 8-10 minutes long. Playing the game like this took me about 2 hours to play just one game.I tried to play a with each piriod at 5 minutes long, and it wasn't much bether. I relize that foot ball is a long game and has it's share of wistle blows, but to play in franchise mode for 2 hours per game is just to long. One last thing, the computer controled players on the opposite team are imposible to play with. Their QB's are way to good, their blockers are imposible to get by, and when one of my players chases after one of the other teams runners, you can't chatch him. This game is a lot of fun, but will take awhile to play.
Seems Like a Beta Version (2003-11-10) Frequent lock-ups and total system crashes. This is the only (retail) software that I've experienced these problems with since the days of DOS. When it is running there are quite a few details that give the impression it is a beta version that was never completely finished before hitting the shelves. EA tech support operates under the "no not us, somebody else" method of problem solution.
Needs to be improved (2003-08-04) I've read reviews of people struggling to score 21 points in a game. Well, I'm 7 games into a season (7-0)on the Rookie skill level playing with 6 min quarters, and am averaging 55 points a game. I have the best offense in the league, but the thing is, I also have the worst defense in the league. I can't stop the pass or the run. The CPU just runs past all my defenders without any problem. No one on my team can even catch them if they break free, even ... offensive team like the Lions almost beat me, I just barely edged them 68-67. What kind of realistic game is this? I tried to play it on Pro and then the CPU just tore me apart. I couldn't run the ball. or get enough time to pass it without the defense crushing my pocket and sacking my QB. Then the CPU just marches down the field in 2-3 plays. This game is very unrealistic. I could really care less about great graphics and stuff like that, EA should try and make the gameplay better. Oh yeah, I really HATE John Maddens commentary during the game. I dont mind the play by play announcer, but JM just gets on my nerves with his stupid remarks that he repeats every game. There should be an option to turn him off.
Madden 2003.....is better then 2002 (2003-07-14) This game is definitely better than 2002. But I do have some problems with it. First of all, the defense is slow. When a quarterback makes a pass to a wide receiver and your defense is trying to catch up with him, the defense is slow. But the defense is awesome when it comes to the pass/rush stuff. The ask madden feature is also great too. U press that lil button and you'll never lose a game. The graphics are tight. Everything about this game is ill. Well, not everything, but most of it is.
Solid game, way better than Madden 2002 (2003-07-07) Last years Madden 2002 was horrible even the worst quarterbacks could pass for more than 400 years in this game... well Madden came out with the new Madden 2003, graphically Madden is stunning, very real and like life from the players to the referees. They really pushed the graphics one more level with this game. Maybe the best graphics in the whole EA Sports series to date...But the best thing in this game has to be the Franchise mode with 30 years in the making it is a micro management game in its own way to with drafting and trading players.. Probably the best yet. Only one dislike I've found is the sound. Al Michaels and John Madden are in this game, but the commentary is a bit repetitive and boring, they should have added more expressions to their voices, but it is still better than Madden 2002's commentary Great game Must buy I would give it 4 1/2
