LONG LIVE THE KING! (2004-05-21) ELVIS' WORK HERE IN HIS LAST ALBUM RELEASED BEFORE HIS DEATH, SHOWS US THE LEGEND STILL HAD IT TO THE END. ELVIS FANS ALIKE KNOW ELVIS' NOW CHRONCHILED HEALTH WAS IN TROUBLE, HE WAS NOT HIMSELF AND PERSONALLY AS A HUUMAN BEING SEEMED LOST. HOWEVER MOST GENERALLY ELVIS FOUND HOPE AND REASON FOR LIVING IN HIS MUSIC. WITHOUT MUSIC AND ADORING FANS HE MAY NOT HAD LASTED AS LONG AS HE DID CONSIDERING HIS DIET AND DRUG USE. THIS ALBUM GIVES US MANY WELL LOVED HITS SUCH AS MOODY BLUE AND WAY DOWN WHICH HAVE A REAL ROCKABILLY SOUND TO IT! MY PERSONAL FAVORITE IS ELVIS' VERSION OF UNCHAINED MELODY..VERY TOUCHING AND STRIPPED OF THE ORCHRESTRA....JUST ELVIS ON A PIANO! MANY RARE AND GREAT SONGS TO CHOOSE FROM . AND TO ME THIS A MUST HAVE FOR FANS OF ELVIS AND OF OF HISTORY WHO SEE HIS DEMISE AS WELL AS HIS PREVAILANCE TO SING RIGHT UNTIL THE END. HE SINGS HIS HEART OUT ALMOST TO LET YOU KNOW OR AS IF HE KNEW THIS WOULD BE HIS LAST ALBUM.
ELVIS SINGS HIS BROKEN HEART OUT ON "MOODY BLUE" (2004-02-18) The original Moody Blue album is one of my favorite records of all-time. Elvis, who could sing anything and make it sound like gold was sadly in poor health when he recorded these tracks. He had lost his passion for life and was terribly unhappy. His soul was crying out and the evidence is on this, his final album. These are perhaps the most moving performances of his career. They are unlike anything else you will ever hear. This album is beefed up with his previous release, "From Elvis Presley Boulevard". Another terrific album along the same lines but a little more country oriented. RCA did a bang up job with this release. Those not familiar with these tracks will find that Elvis Presley was not only the King of Rock and Roll, but he was also one of the most incredible artists this world will will ever know. Bravo!
king of rock (2003-12-07) this album has a little of everything for fans and collectors, drug abuse, bad eating habits and his cronies the memphis mafia..all contributed to his unhealthy life and demise.
Deserves 5 Stars+ (2003-05-25) I don't understand why Moody Blue has been rated only 4 stars. This is one of my favorite CDs. I play it constantly. It has a wonderful variety of fantastic songs, true Elvis rhythm and blues. I'd rate it higher then 5 if it were possible.
Let Me Be There (2003-03-14) I am a 12 year old music fan from Lucasville Ohio. My mom has the original blue album of this. I would say along with In person at The International Hotel Las Vegas Nevada and the Jailhouse Rock Soundtrack and the Sun Records songs. This is one of Elvis' best. Moody Blue is like a country/rock/disco song. Everyone has heard Way Down. Unchained Melody is better than The Righteous Brothers version. He'll Have To Go is a great Country Song originally by George Jones. I am saying all these great things about this album. Why Did I Give It 1 star? The best song on the album is the live version of the Olivia Newton-John song Let Me Be There recorded in Memphis Tennesee. This song RCA didn't bother to put on this CD It should be between He'll Have To Go and Way Down or on the record or cassette- the end of side 1. Anybody who gave this 5 stars has not heard the original album which is 1 million stars. I don't mind a few bonus tracks but what you mainly buy the album for is the album not bonus tracks. There is a version avaidible without bonus tracks if you would like to hear the best song on the album. I ordered that version from The Record Shop yesterday. By the way I did not buy this version.
