Editorial Reviews
From Amazon.co.uk

Fans of Karl Jenkins' Adiemus albums or of Enya's mix of voice and synth sounds will find much to admire in this recording. On Libera, a boys-voice choir achieves ambient ethereal effects by judicious close-microphone work and liberal use of distant-sounding reverb programmes. The music is all by the choir's director, Robert Prizeman, whose church-music background has served him well--the close-harmonisations are rather graceful and are ably performed by the boys, even in the high ranges in which they are often required to float. The only two pieces not by Prizeman are arrangements of the famous canons by Pachelbel and Tallis, which he cunningly works into two of the tracks. The vocal writing is supported by a modestly trippy synth background and a light beat. The words are taken from traditional devotional texts (Beata Lux, Dies Irae, Agnus Dei, and so on) but the overall effect is less religious than chilled. --Warwick Thompson

Hypnotic (2003-10-16)

If angles have voice and if they sing, surely they must sound like Libera. If Heaven has a concert hall, then Libera must be heard there. If one could float above the mythical elvin city of Rivendell, then most certainly the sounds of Libera would rise from its mist shrouded steeples. Hypnotic. Mesmerizing. Almost painfully pure and beautiful.
Liebra is Soothing (2003-07-15)

I bought this CD because I love boy choir music and when I first heard it I was blown away because the voices on the CD are so beautiful ,pure ,and innocent that your mind transports you to another realm of peace and holyness because the music is so soothing. I highly reccomend this to anyone who loves boy choirs or who just wants something to help soothe them to sleep at night.
One word: Fantastic! (2003-05-03)

I'm going to cut straight to the chase, since these other reviewers have hit it right on the spot: this album is amazing. The voices (courtesy of St. Philips Boys Choir) are utterly angelic. The instruments used (Drum and Bass, Synths) fit the mood perfectly without drowning out the vocals. Relaxing, Mesmerizing, go buy it ASAP.

Note to Creative Audigy sound card owners: Take advantage of the EAX technology. Listening to this album while changing the 'environment' to 'Cathedral' will result in breathless results. You won't be dissapointed. Enjoy!

Amazing piece of art! (2003-03-20)

I strongly recommend this album. I was completely blown away by the great sound of the boys' angelic voices and the synthesizing used to create the heavenly sound. Among my favorite songs on this CD are Salva Me, Agnus Dei, Libera, and Sancta, because they are so fresh-sounding: classic with a twist. The second album by this group, Luminosa, is also a wonderful collection of music. Libera is a welcome and fantastic new sound.

This music is beautiful!(I'm listening to it at this very moment.lol.) It has the power to transport one to another world. The synthesizers blend perfectly with the boys' voices. I encourage all to buy this cd. My compliments go to the soloists: Liam O'Kane, Steven Geraghty, Adam Harris, and Alex Baron, and of course the WONDERFUL, TALENTED Mr. Robert Prizeman!
