From his childhood on the family farm in rural Tuscany to the world-wide stage, Andrea Bocelli has achieved phenomenal success. His singing is only partially the point and his fame owes much more to the aura of romance and the romantic archetype that's attached to him. Romanza is by far Bocelli's largest success, winning adoration thanks to the swooning vocals and the easy, sometimes lush, always pop-safe instrumental textures and melodies. As far as his opera chops go, Bocelli has won the approval of Pavarotti but likely will not wow enthusiasts. The upside is that Bocelli will likely grow the opera pie, convincing labels to take on more operatic projects. --Andrew Bartlett

The Gold Treatment! (2001-04-05)  Yes, it's the same CD we love, but given the Gold treatment for pure high quality resolution. Bringing out the crisp tone of this wonderful tenor's voice. If you love Bocelli, and love Romanza, give your old copy to a friend and spend the extra few dollars for something to cherish forever!
Very funny, just the same as ANY OTHER version (2001-03-06)  This is an in-your-face imitation of the actual "Romanza" album. Don't buy this one unless you want the gold trimmings on it for double the price of the American version. The only thing changed about it was the gold made for Andrea's Australia visit last year. Just get the US version and save your money.

Romanza (Gold Disc) [IMPORT] ~ Andrea Bocelli (2000-12-19) Life is good and life is better with Andrea Bocelli. I never fell in love with an opera singer before, but things do happen. I find that it is catching with others who hear his works as well. I notice that seasoned opera listeners don't share my point of view sometimes, and then I rejoice in the fact that I am still able to listen with an open mind and find a wonderful find like Andrea Bocelli. Bravo Andrea Bocelli !
