Very entertaining... and disturbing (2006-05-28)

I hate to use this analogy, but this documentary is like a car wreck... it's disturbing but you can't look away. GG Allin was probably the most disturbed "entertainer" you'll ever see. His concerts and spoken word performances usually ended with him naked, covered in his own feces, engaged in fist-fights with members of the audience. The most shocking aspect of this film is that it's all true. As shocking as it seems at times, none of the people in this documentary are actors. GG Allin, his band, his fans, even his former teachers and friends, there's just something creepy about ALL of them. Although Allin will never be remembered fondly by most (he died during the making of this documentary), he was hard to ignore. This documentary is highly recommended, although you may feel the need to shower after watching it.
Not so hardcore (2004-04-30)

When I first saw Hated I was 14 years old and hadn't been exposed to many people like GG. I've been meaning to buy the DVD for years and finally did a couple weeks ago. Seeing it again (I'm 19) it wasn't nearly as good as I thought it was. It's still really gross but I was expecting grotesque.

I sound really disturbed. Ha ha.

Better than being crapped on (2004-04-10)

This is a VERY funny film - it's also quite disturbing. Those of you who think this drug-addled mental patient is some sort of hero/idol are scary (scary cause you're loose-thanks alot ACLU) - actually you're more f*'ed up than G.G. was. That being said, I bought this when it 1st came out (and it still gets played), so WTF. Actually, I'm thinking of getting the DVD to better preserve this lunkhead and his followers. I remember when he was alive and I actually thought about going to see his "act"; I couldn't get past the whole excrement thing though. Anyway, this is a demented slice of life that most of us don't experience by a long shot, so take a peek and have a ball. Lick my blowhole.
F-ing awesome no matter what music you listen to (2004-04-03)

I don't care what kind of music you listen to, this documentary is awesome. It will make your jaw drop and make you crack up laughing. Remember this isn't just a GG Allin fan video. This is an award winning documentary by Tod Phillips (the guy that did Road Trip and other movies). I will tell you not to watch this with your parents!

Now if you're not familiar with GG and you want to know more about him, then this will pretty much explain everything. Watch this and it will give you an appriciation of GG. And if you're a GG Allin fan that hasn't watched this then you don't know what you're missing.

In short, I recommend this to everyone except devout christians and rednecks.

Fun for the whole family! (2004-01-10)

The Hated DVD documentary about GG Allin & The Murder Junkies is a fun and powerful documentary about the positive and fun-loving character GG Allin - everyone's friend. GG came from an era in music where it was the front person's duty to spread love and understanding. And that's exactly what he did with a little help from his band. GG taught to me to be nice to other people. Understand. Respect. Etc.

The music performed in Hated is also very beautiful. Sort of like a mix between Blink 182 and Status Quo. The title "Hated" shows you how brilliantly ironic Allin was - he was never hated by anyone. Neither did he hate anyone back. What a great play with words.

I recommend this DVD to anyone who cares about music!
