Hosts Dave and Becky go behind the scenes at the garbage industry, getting up close and personal with collection trucks, then visiting a recycling plant. Kids see how all these machines work, and the program makes a sound, logical connection between this activity and dealing responsibly with garbage and recycling at home. --Tom Keogh

Age-inappropriate previews; silly characters (2003-08-09) I was really angry to see an animated Batman video previewed at the beginning of this video. The preview showed one character waving a gun and several scenes of fighting, including a vixenish woman karate kicking someone in the chest. I don't let my kids watch that stuff and really resent it being stuck at the start of a kid video aimed at a much younger audience. The two characters in this video spend a lot of time clowning around and generally being a little dumb; we liked the "Where the Garbage Goes" video much better (don't know if it's available; we got it at the library). It has lots of truck and dump footage plus recycling plant scenes without the goofy sideshow act.
Not as good as the rest in the series (2003-04-16) There was a lot more Dave and Becky in this video than truck action, which is the only part my 3 year old son cares about. This video does hit upon the importance of recycling which is a positive but I agree with previous reviewers, Becky is the dumpster and odor references get old very quickly. This is the only video my son has not wanted to watch over and over the first day we got it. Also, in the version I purchased 04/03, there is a long rather violent and gruesome Batman animated trailer that is not at all appropriate for kids, so be sure to skip it!!
Dave and Becky are at it again (2002-11-07) Dave and Becky explore the world of garbage collection and recycling in this instalment that is typical of this popular video series. Maybe because there are fewer types of trucks, there is more horseplay than usual and less information. In contrast to a previous reviewer's child, our toddler prefers "There Goes a Fire Truck" which has the opposite tendency -- more explanation and just a few antics. The garbage trucks are interesting, especially the automatic truck that has an arm that lifts the containers and dumps them, and there is encouragement to recycle as we visit a recycling plant. We have about ten of this series and I'd rank this toward the middle of the pack; though it's still worth watching, our child views this one less frequently than others.
This is by far his favorite (2002-06-12) My son, who is 15 months old, absolutley loves this tape. He runs to the TV and points to his tapes. It's great to be able to sit and watch with him and not have to watch that purple dinosaur [junk]... It's also great to be able to do the dishes too while he watches. Buy this Tape if your kid likes this kind of stuff. He has other videos in this genre and I have rate them all and said the same thing up to this point.. This is the best tape of all according to my son. The 2 and up rule doesn't apply here. My 15 month old has been watching this for 2 months now. He would watch it for hours and hours if we let him...
My 2 year old loves this video (2002-05-28) This is a favorite for a two year old that is mystified by trucks and heavy equipment. He doesn't really understand the antics of "Dave and Becky", but I find that there is plenty of trash truck footage. I can't say the same for 'There Goes a Firetruck'(waaay too much instruction and not nearly enough truck footage).
