Well worth the read (2007-12-17)

You've got to love the way this guy just comes out and says stuff. Politics in the Middle East has remained stuck for the last century largely as a consequence of outside interference, there for the acquisition of oil. His solution. Get out. Let them work things out for themselves. Iran isn't going to try to overrun Iraq which will probably remain intact. If it doesn't, it wasn't meant to be. Israel will likely allow for the creation of a Palestinian state because they'll need to make peace with their ever more numerous and dangerous neighbours. Iran isn't going to be a threat even if they do acquire a nuclear bomb. The U.S. would be absolutely crazy to attack. This kind of straight forward analysis is definitely worth reading.
A MUST READ (2007-11-07)

All the reviews above state everything I was going to say so there is no need to repeat it except the fact this book is an excellent read. The facts are well laid out, easy to understand and she looks at every angle of the story.THIS IS A MUST READKevin H
History repeats itself, and no lessons learned. (2007-09-27)

I think Twain said something about history not necessarily repeating itself, but sure enough rhyming. Reading this one understands why the likes of Conrad Black banned Dyer's articles. Dyer exposes the follies and mess the US has and is currently making in Iraq, and for all the wrong reasons. I have yet to read a better account of the debacle that is Iraq from the perspective of what has happened, is happening, and will happen.
Highly Recommended (2007-09-05)

Mr. Dyer's clarity of style and substance really cuts through the flak sent up by the American government and media regarding the invasion and occupation of Iraq. After reading this book, one wonders how anyone at all could have fallen for the doomed neoconservative scheme for perpetual U.S. world domination. An excellent survey.
Gwynne Dyer does it again (2007-07-21)

Anyone who has read Dyer's other books will not be disappointed with this one. His ability to cut through the media releases and partisan politics to get to the simple facts makes this book unique. He predicted most of the current events long before they unfolded and I suspect that his analysis in this book of future events will be spot on as well. If you only want to read one book on the middle east and US foreign policy, this is a good place to start. I also recommend "Future Tense" and "War" by the same author.
