Was Jesus a carpenter? An only child? Quiet and meek? Probably not. If you're surprised, perhaps you should take a look at A&E's Biography: Jesus, which reexamines his life in the context of his times. There's not much to go on beyond the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (which may have been written by others after their deaths), and there's certainly no documentary footage, but A&E uses interviews with Biblical scholars, photography of the beautiful Galileean countryside, and dramatic re-creations to bring his actions to life. It's pretty much inarguable that Jesus has had a greater impact on our culture than any other person in history, so the more we know about him, the better. Beware the Leavening of the Pharisees and intellectuals (2004-01-21)  I borrowed this from the library, and feel it is hostile to the Word of God, and teaches heresies about Jesus. Either the Bible is all true, inspired of God, and God cannot lie - or God DID lie, and the book is a collection of myths and legends, sprinkled with some interesting history and commentaries by men. In that case, we may as well study the Odyssey or Dune. However, if you WANT to know and grasp the dangerous subversion being promoted in Catholic colleges (I attend one, and this is being pushed as "rational" thinking), seminaries, and other places, you should listen to this. It is articulate, and nicely filmed. Frankly, it made me ill, and I could not finish it. Of course, the anti-fundamentalists will praise this work...as would the Pharisees.

Good biography of Jesus! (2003-05-16)  This was a very good biography of Jesus, so many differents points of views that we learn about the life of Jesus that is interesting to know. What I find odd his Jesus say sometime one thing and after he say another thing, like he said to people, "If someone slamp your cheek offer him the other one" and other things like that but why one time he was so angry and said, "How dare you sin in my father house!" and he destroyed the display that some people where trying to sell in the temple and he took the money and throw it on the floor. So what about what he teaching, "When someone slap you offer him your other cheek??? Lots of contradictions in this biography but it's interesting to know the many points of views about what happen in Jesus life!
save us from the fundamentalists (2002-04-23) He was a Savior who died for our sake, but he didn't walk on water, alright?
not for belivers (2001-09-06)  As a Christian, I was offended by the way the speakers just stated that many things that I belive to be true were not. For example, one stated that the four books of the Gospel were not written by Matthew, Luke, Mark and John. That they were written but anonymous people who made them up just to convert people to their new religion, who do they think they are!!
