A Delightful Book to Work Through (2008-04-22)  I've been a fan of Matt's for a few years now and he has really put together a gem here. As you work through the chapters and assignments you really get feeling like a pro. This gets your creative juices flowing as you see how really simple the processes are once you understand how they work. Scott Kelby's 7-Point System is another must have for a new Photoshop User. Once you have been through them both you will be well on your way to becoming an expert with Photoshop.
This is the first time I've actually started to feel comfortable in Photoshop. (2008-03-04) I have to say this is a great book just what I was looking for.. Im a newbie to photoshop and have been reading Scotts book for digital photographers which was great for getting my photos tweaked to print but I was still craving more details on how to use photoshop better and not just for photo retouching.. The layers book seems to fit exactly what I was looking for and I am having a blast working through the chapters and trying out the examples with your pictures.. It's great that you make sure to give all the keyboard shortcuts for everything as it seems to be the key to success. Also the "How Do I" pages at the end of each chapter really help and saves me from flipping back to find where you first mention the stuff. This is the first time I've actually started to feel comfortable in Photoshop.
